You are going about making that website so thoroughly! : ) Thanks for the write-up of the 1917 adaptation; those are indeed a series of strange choices. If it had been British, I might have thought the no direct mention of the Jacobites thing might have been because the makers thought it was obvious? But not when it's American. Maybe they wanted to give it a generic quality, rather than setting it in a specific time/place?
