Yes, that makes a lot of sense. I've definitely seen some fandom posts that have a similar "I've had it up to HERE with this canon" vibe, where someone keeps on posting about the thing even though they no longer care for it at all. Or they seem to be comparing it to some imaginary perfect version of the show in their head (possibly their own fanfic) - the women's writing equivalent seems to be comparing it to some perfectly feminist non-existent ur-text. Well, of course if you're comparing a thing that exists to a thing that doesn't, the thing that exists can't help but fall short!
