Today (2/5) has not been such a successful writing day as yesterday, but still, I did do some writing. A couple more paragraphs added to this story, and the plot is inching forwards towards a conclusion.

May 2nd - 946 words. a 500-word challenge ficlet, a quadruple drabble, and a bit oe editing, just not on the fic I'm supposed to be working on this month *sigh*

Checking in for day 2: I've managed at least another 1.5k on my h/c assignment :D I've also done some ruminating on the plot, and I think I've got a decent handle on it now.

Good luck! I once wrote a fic that was over 80k, but it took me more than a year, and I spent half my time re-reading what I'd already written because I couldn't remember important plot points. Even then, I probably contradicted myself a few times =/

Thanks. There are regular challenges I like to participate in so there will always be other things claiming my attention, but when I have time for editing I really need to concentrate on the fic I'm supposed to be finishing. *rolls eyes at self* This is why it's taking so long to get it done.

Damn, I don't know what I was thinking when I started this thing (news flash, I wasn't thinking anything beyond "hee hee ho ho"), but I'm a hairsbreadth from 9K right now and am clearly going to crack 10K. And who fucking knows how many beyond that, because do I have an exit plan? No. I do not have an exit plan.

When I was going through and making slight revisions/additions to the draft last night, I had a feeling something was missing - I was sure I remembered writing a bunch of other stuff - tonight I went looking and found another draft with a lot more material that I had since written! I'm too tired tonight to combine the drafts, but I emailed them both to myself in case I lose one or the other (or chunks thereof) in the combining process. I tried Word's automatic combining feature, but it assumes that one document needs to dominate over the other, and they really need to take turns being top and bottom.

(I email myself drafts every time I make a change, for this very purpose. If I hadn't found the document, I could have dug it out of the email.)

I also formatted for printing the prompt fic I of which I recently completed a first draft (so TODS can beta-read), only to find out that printer thinks it's offline. This happens now and again; I'm just too tired to mess with it tonight. So I emailed that to myself, too. (If I happen to print it at work tomorrow, no one will notice. *shifty eyes*)
