I was a fan of Julian Mitchell's largely forgotten novels of 1960s in my late teens/early 20s: not sure how they would hold up to re-reading, and comparison with e.g. beloved Sir Angus as gay novelist of period (i.e. pre-decriminalisation etc). He then moved on to play & script-writing as I recall.
