Yeah, it's definitely a particular thing—I have lots of fave writers who I think write really well in terms of technique and emotion, but there are only one or two others whose writing is powerful quite like that.

Heh, if I'm going to be a completist about anyone's books I suppose I should expect a couple of less than brilliant ones—but worth it to discover the forgotten gems, I think :P
