The penultimate week of the read-along, and in these chapters we are still very Jacobite.

Next week we will, sadly, read Part V Chapter 5 and the Epilogue.

I hope the life things are not too stressful!

Good points about Glencoe and Greening's potential background and motivations. Aww, I love the idea of learning that Lochiel escaped being the moment that releases the emotional floodgates, as it were, and lets Ewen cry over his own sufferings as well. Poor Ewen.

Very interesting thoughts on Keith's emotional separation of himself into 'Captain/Major Windham' and 'Keith', and the hints of how his backstory might have contributed to that. Poor Keith. (And all this is very interesting in view of my never-quite-managed idea of convincingly writing a story where Keith actually gives up his military/Hanoverian allegience—hmm, thoughts). luzula has already linked my meta post on names (thank you! :) ), but that focussed mainly on how names convey the changing relationship between Keith and Ewen—I think there's quite possibly a lot more to be investigated about how names convey Keith's view(s) of himself. And I love how Broster pays so much attention to all these details—such a good writer...

Hehe, good point also about Keith and Ferrers! I noticed someone nominated Keith/Ferrers for Chocolate Box, which intrigued me. And I also love Keith's ability to act on feelings he doesn't understand.

Aww! I can't say I'm not a little bit disappointed—but I suppose that way I'll be able to do a totally different take on it... and I hope your writing is going well, anyway :)

It is going well! I'm at 20K. Tell me if you want occasional outtakes of scenes that I think you might enjoy, like I did with the other fic--OTOH it might not be satisfying to just get little bits of it, so I fully understand if that's not something you want.

Keith/Ferrers for chocolateboxcomm: that was me, nom'd at tgarnsl's suggestion. I think I'm the only one who nom'd anything anything for chocolate box, although I ended up requesting a smaller subset than I nom'd. But I did see in the sign-ups summary that two people offered Jacobite Trilogy! So there's a chance we'll get a new piece of fic or art out of it!
