I've not read very much about the Bloomsbury Group—most of what I know about them comes from brief mentions in other stuff—but Strachey's writing is certainly entertaining!

OH NO! Why??? Must this always happen???

Argh, I know, right? I wouldn't call this a particularly bad instance—neither the declaration of spinsterhood nor the marriage is made very much of, it doesn't have the smug 'OBVIOUSLY this is the NATURAL destiny of every woman' moralising it often comes with, and Margery does get to remain unattached. But it was still a real disappointment in a book I otherwise really liked.
