Margery and Eleanor are still in their teens and Ewing STILL marries Eleanor off! I really thought we would get off lightly with some gentle hint that Margery would marry one of Eleanor's brothers someday, but no, we're going full-bore with Eleanor getting married NOW.
At least, coming as it does completely out of the blue, it didn't take any narrative space away from the gardening, sketching, writing, discovering new species of algae, etc.
