A few random things

My copy of Sir Isumbras at the Ford arrived today—a first edition, with the original owner's name from 1919 written on the flyleaf! I'm very pleased (the last time the website I ordered from told me I was getting a first edition—of Flight of the Heron, in fact—it turned out not to be, and although getting a full refund means I now have a free extra copy of FotH I wasn't getting my hopes up for this one, but no, it's exactly as advertised), and am looking forward to diving straight into it as soon as I've finished the very lovely Miss Read book I'm currently reading.

I had a very successful shopping trip today, as a result of which I have both flour and eggs in the house for the first time in many weeks. I shall be doing some baking this weekend...

I have started another Flight of the Heron fic, wahey. Unusually for me, I've decided to start writing without knowing exactly where the story is going, because the concept is a bit open-ended and I feel like it's still missing a few pieces, but hopefully it'll work out later on. I've written more than 800 words in one go tonight, which seems like a good sign, in any case.

Yay!! I'm so glad you could get it, in spite of the current state of the world making postal-related stuff so difficult! I hope you enjoy it, and of course I look forward to reading your thoughts about it! And oh! a first edition sounds lovely! (I have the Penguin 1937 one, by the way :D )

Also, having multiple copies of a book you love is never a bad thing, am I right? <3 Hurrah for websites doing right by their customers!

Yay shopping and baking and fic! You are very impressive! :D

You've pretty much described what my writing process is like most of the time. But whatever works, right? If words are happening, then it's a good thing! *cheers you on very selflessly*

Yay for your book! Looking forward to the review. That things about not getting a first edition when you are expecting one happened to me, too (with Almond, Wild Almond). But I kept it because shipping it back would have cost me more than the refund. Ah well.

Funny with the flour and eggs--Sweden had a brief period where the flour was picked out on the shelves, but after that we've been pretty much fine.

I have started another Flight of the Heron fic, wahey.

*cheers you on*

Hooray for another FotH fic!

Also hooray for Miss Read books. I love the dry humour in them, just what's needed at the moment.

I'm glad fic writing is going so well!

I have had to test a lot of egg-less recipes over the past few months (yoghurt made a decent replacement) but it must have been a lot more difficult to manage without flour... I guess you just weren't baking at all? :(
