regshoe: Close-up of a grey heron, its beak open as if laughing (Heron 2)

Important Flight of the Heron announcement

A partial victory is better than a total defeat!!!

It's still basically wrong, of course, and—very frustratingly!—it only partially solves the biggest practical problem with the first incorrect canonical, because it's still listed under J rather than F on the alphabetical fandom page. I hope that people will take the advice at the top of the page and search using ctrl+F rather than relying on the alphabetical list, as that will now succeed.

(I will not, needless to say, be changing my own tagging :P ).

...But some genuinely positive change has been achieved, and I do hope this enables more people looking for fic for this lovely book SHE SAID, IN THE SINGULAR to find it.

Yay! That's the formatting that's used for another of my fandoms (The Locked Tomb Series | Gideon the Ninth Series - Tamsyn Muir), which I had previously been wondering why they hadn't used for Flight of the Heron as a compromise. I don't think I have the Jacobite history knowledge to come up with an appropriate joke for this, but I have been trying to think of one. :D

Congratulations! I've been just using whatever was the canonical version, but maybe I'll go your route and tag for just FotH...but OTOH, I do have several fics for GitN, for which the now current canonical tag would make good sense. At any rate I'll change to the new canonical.

Great news! Thanks so much to you and whichever tag wrangler got the change made!
