Fic: 'It Will Be Summer' (Flight of the Heron)

I am delighted to announce that the total wordcount of Flight of the Heron fic on AO3 is now greater than the total wordcount of The Flight of the Heron. :D

Anyway: this is a very silly and indulgent fic which develops my new OT3, Ewen/Keith/Ardroy.

Ohh, more of your fic, what a treat! I am looking forward to reading this! And there is nothing silly and indulgent about fluffy fic! (But, if there is, who cares? Give me ALL THE FLUFF!)

my new OT3, Ewen/Keith/Ardroy.

Finally! Keith begins to appreciate the Highlands! <3

Gosh, yes, this book really is a love letter to the Highlands, isn't it? It's just so fitting to use it as the background when writing about the bond between them! *glances at WIP fondly* I'm going to spend a lovely afternoon reading this later! *heart eyes*

Heh, having read it, I wouldn't call it silly, and it's certainly rather less indulgent than "The Wounded Name".

As for word count, it's so good to see it going up. Though if you count "Outlander" as FotH fanfic, which I do, there's plenty, plenty more. However, I think quality is a whole lot more important than quantity!

the more I hear about The Wounded Name the more I look forward to reading it!
It's a ride, that's for sure!

I've not read the Outlander books but I've heard a bit about them, and it doesn't sound great
She says she read FotH, and some of the characters and their arcs sound fairly familiar. Personally, I noped out mentally when she got to the Highland apricot harvest in the middle of the Little Ice Age. Finished the book but honestly wished I hadn't wasted my time. :/

Shamelessly chiming in to say that I read the first book in the Outlander series a few years ago and then watched the first season of the tv show, to try and get a fair opinion... and nope. There's a lot of unnecessary violence (a lot of it sexual and suspiciously looking like it's just there for shock value) and I don't think it's super well written or anything, and also I side-eye Gabaldon a lot for being against fanfiction when the series was basically born because of it!

(Also: I read a little while ago that she considers The Jacobite trilogy as an inspiration... and bah, all of the fanfiction you guys have written is 1000000000 times better than "Outlander". I have spoken!)
