Welcome to the new month, and happy May Day (for folklore reasons, labour movement reasons or—clearly the most important reason of all—because tonight is the anniversary of That Night in the Hut from Flight of the Heron). As we go into the new month, have you got any particular writing goals or ambitions for May?

My check-in: Some plot planning for the next chapter of my Flight of the Heron/Kidnapped crossover longfic, and started writing with 300 new words. For the last few months I've been averaging just under two chapters a month, and I'm only just starting a new chapter now and at a point where the plot is getting a bit complicated, so I'm going to set myself the smaller goal of finishing one more chapter this month and see where that gets me.

2nd: 371 words at writers' hour today.

My goal is to finish my exchange fic and get my "humour" fic from last year into good enough shape to send to beta. (This might actually mean glaring at it for a week and then shrugging helplessly and sending it to beta as is. I'll see.)
