Having already recced my own lovely gift, here are some more things I've found from around the collection...

A Little Princess is a perennial Yuletide fandom, and I loved both these pre-femslash Sara&/Becky fics. This one deals with their canon happy ending, with some development of how the class divide might be bridged, and it's also utterly adorable—they like each other so much and it's the best:

The First Morning (2591 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: A Little Princess - Frances Hodgson Burnett
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Becky & Sara Crewe
Additional Tags: Post-Canon, well technically late in canon, pre-relationship in that childhood crush kind of way, Fluff
Summary:

The day after Sara's visit to the Carrisford house, Becky leaves Miss Minchin's for her own happily ever after.

And this one is a canon-divergence AU interesting for the ways it does and doesn't change things—but it gives Sara and Becky a chance at what's possibly an even happier future together, and is also completely adorable in its 'feeling their way towards it' pre-relationship:

Dearer Than a Sister (2689 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: A Little Princess - Frances Hodgson Burnett
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Becky & Sara Crewe, Becky/Sara Crewe
Characters: Becky (A Little Princess), Sara Crewe, Ralph Crewe, Maria Minchin
Additional Tags: Alternate Universe - Canon Divergence, Character Death Fix, Friendship, Loyalty, Pre-Relationship, Epistolary Elements, Yuletide Treat
Summary:

Sara's father survives, but at the cost of his fortune and his health. Life at Miss Minchin's is no longer so enchanted for Sara, stripped of her status as show pupil; but at least she and Becky can depend on each other.

Yuletide is always a good time for Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell worldbuilding fic, and this one is excellent—making very good use of pitch-perfect pastiche of an A-level syllabus to explore both the history of the book and how it might be perceived in the in-universe present day:

3.0: Subject content (1061 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell - Susanna Clarke
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Additional Tags: Worldbuilding, Pseudo-History
Summary:

Extracts from the subject specification for the UK A-level in Magical History (7081).

And Piranesi has also done well with this lovely fic about James Ritter's future, quietly kind in the best way of the book:

The Crystal Cave (1515 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Piranesi - Susanna Clarke
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Piranesi | Matthew Rose Sorensen, The House (Piranesi), James Ritter
Additional Tags: Fishing, Statues
Summary:

James Ritter returns to the House.

The A Bit of Fry & Laurie 'Australian Soap Opera' sketch was a highlight of the tagset, and I'm delighted to see it's got exactly the fic it deserves. This story is utterly bonkers and has perfectly captured the tone of canon, while also finding a way to make some sense of the main characters' relationship and give them something of a happy ending:

What if We Kissed at Morquinda’s BBQ and We Were Both Called Jim? (1619 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: "Australian Soap Opera" sketch, A Bit of Fry and Laurie
Rating: Mature
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Stephen Fry's character/Hugh Laurie's character
Characters: Owen | Clark | Jim, Bradley | Craig | Shane | Finley | Declan | Jim, Javelina
Additional Tags: Comedy, Getting Together, Australia, Parody, Cruising, Barbecue, Yuletide

After the bombshell revelation that they've been having an affair, two fan favorite characters on Australian Soap Opera must face each other again at the barbecue to celebrate the opening of Morquinda's new executive fitness center and garage. Sparks will fly. Sausages will sizzle. Tune in primetime. Only on Ao3.

Staying on the topic of utterly bonkers, 'Miss Read-esque village schoolteacher story that gradually turns into bizarre folk horror, as worldbuilding backstory for Bob the Builder' is a perfectly Yuletide sort of brilliance. I love it:

The Bobsville Nativity (2478 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Bob the Builder
Rating: Not Rated
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Characters: Worldbuilding (Bob the Builder)
Additional Tags: folk horror, lack of appropriate adult supervision, after M R James
Summary:

A pre-canon investigation of how we even got here.

This Carmilla crossdressing fic is a clever flip-round of a passage from canon, and a great addition to the development of Laura and Carmilla's relationship:

To Prosecute His Suit in Masquerade (1207 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Carmilla - J. Sheridan Le Fanu
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Carmilla | Mircalla Countess Karnstein/Laura
Characters: Laura (Carmilla - J. Sheridan Le Fanu), Carmilla Karnstein
Summary:

...or was there here a disguise and a romance? I had read in old storybooks of such things. What if a boyish lover had found his way into the house, and sought to prosecute his suit in masquerade, with the assistance of a clever old adventuress. But there were many things against this hypothesis, highly interesting as it was to my vanity.

I don't strictly speaking know the canon for this one, but it was a great read even only being familiar with the book and not the film—warm-hearted, very funny and adorable post-canon misunderstandings/courtship fic. I am delighted to learn of the existence of a canonical fandom-specific 'Happy Gay Farmers' tag for Eagle of the Ninth, and this story certainly does well with that concept:

Virtute (6533 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: The Eagle | The Eagle of the Ninth (2011)
Rating: Explicit
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Marcus Flavius Aquila/Esca Mac Cunoval
Characters: Marcus Flavius Aquila, Esca Mac Cunoval
Additional Tags: Horses, Post-Canon, Happy Gay Farmers (Eagle of the Ninth), Cultural Differences, Domesticity, idiots to lovers, Light Dom/sub, Courtship, Gift Giving
Summary:

The trouble starts with a horse.

And I don't know canon for this one at all, but I happened across it via the recip's rec and was so intrigued by the tags that I gave it a try anyway—so with the caveat that I may be missing a lot of necessary context, this is a really good story about child abuse in a medieval cathedral, subtle and uncomfortable in a good way:

Per ly snekhole in hostio (1727 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: And A Perle in the Myddes - Eleanor Farjeon
Rating: Mature
Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings
Relationships: Nicholas Cope/Tom Thacker
Characters: Nicholas Cope, Thomas Thacker, Hugh Withun, Marget Venn
Additional Tags: Implied/Referenced Child Abuse, basically the medieval Makin Review, Religious Imagery & Symbolism, Penitential literature, Corporal Punishment, Somebody Lives/Not Everyone Dies, Canon-Typical Violence
Summary:

Welchester, 1445. A boy chorister is dead. Tom and Nick try to cope.

And in Madness, this hilarious and very cute We Are Lady Parts fic, in which we get a spot-on Ayesha POV on Amina/Ahsan, and some Ayesha/Laura cuteness:

New Achievements in Cringe (488 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: We Are Lady Parts (TV)
Rating: General Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Ayesha/Laura (We Are Lady Parts), Ahsan Alkaaf/Amina Hussein
Characters: Ayesha (We Are Lady Parts), Laura (We Are Lady Parts), Amina Hussein, Ahsan Alkaaf
Additional Tags: Post-Season/Series 02, ayesha pov, Humor, Fluff
Summary:

Ayesha hadn’t really thought through the implications of a double date before she’d agreed.

I have successfully guessed the author of one of these fics, and not attempted guesses for any of the others.
