You've sold me on "Smith of Wootton Major". I need to get my hands on it.

I've only read a few of the drafts and notes and it was a long time ago. I seem to remember it being slow going. "The Shibboleth of Fëanor" sounds excellent though; I should check it out sometime.

I would also love to read that essay about Galadriel and Melian!
If it was an even longer essay it could look into Thingol's influence on Thranduil, then analyse Galadriel and Thranduil's relationship as statesmen, and compare how this relationship is driven by their differing experiences in Doriath. Or something.
(Mostly I just love Melian and would love to read anything that fleshed her out a bit more.)
