Oh, no worries—I hadn't realised it was a spoiler :D (I'll have to see how the revelation plays out in later books).

I tend to assume with those detailed naval descriptions that the author must know what they're talking about, but frankly I don't know enough to be able to tell if they're not. Oh well...
