My check-in for day 12: Urgh, I am ill >:( Not too severely so at the moment, so hopefully it doesn't get worse and interfere more with writing; today I've managed 700 words on the longfic.

It is, but it takes forever, for the most part, to actually do because it means having to read through it all again.

May 12th - 1000 words, a 1k challenge fic for the challenge with a 1k word limit. I like to use my full allotment of words if I can.

Thanks! I could have written more, and most likely will before I post to my journal. Word limits can be restrictive, I always have to keep my eye on how many I have left, then spend a while editing to make sure it makes sense.

On Day 12, I added 522 words to the chase scene in chapter 13.

I somehow thought we had talked about that, but apparently not! I meant the black-throated diver/Arctic loon, but I see now that the name has historically been applied to several species. The feet are placed very far back, thus the name. : D

Oh, yes! Possibly we have—my brain is not in its best working order today and I may have forgotten :) Anyway, that name makes a lot of sense, and it's another very exciting species to see :D

Today (12th) I wrote the ending scene to my fic, decided it was rubbish and then wrote a new improved version of it. So quite a lot of words in total but I did end up deleting half of them.

I hope your bug clears off quickly and doesn't stop you writing, or doing other things you like <3

Day 12: Finished revising the fic for the exchange; gave the beta a second draft, which got only a handful of suggestions this time around; finished up the final version and posted! It doesn't open for about a week, but as much as I enjoyed writing it, I'm glad to be done! Also left one comment on AO3.
