My check-in for day 31: Some sketching out of the plot for chapter 17, and wrote the first 250 words of it. My goal for May was to finish chapter 16 of my longfic, which I have just about done, as well as writing a new short fic—I think it's been a pretty good month :D

I feel like I've hit my stride again, after a long period of desultoriness, which is a great feeling. I only achieved one of my goals and then I got distracted from the other, but that's okay. :-)

Day 31: Staring at my fic and going "ah fuck the structure of the last couple thousand words doesn't work", which resulted in me shuffling around scenes and writing some notes about what new scenes I need to fix it.

May 31: tapped out another scene for the WIP and… it might serve as an end? I’ll need a full reread to confirm but I hit one of those lines that makes me go, huh. Maybe I shouldn’t try and say more.

Day 31: over 1k for a blog entry + about a page of longhand not yet transcripted

I didn't meet my original goals which was working on my current WIPs, but RL was happening and my changed goal of working focused on _something_ was successful, as in I got through that one file cleanup task and am working continuously on the drawer fic project. I think I'm going to combine the latter with getting back at my WIPs again once the power gardening lessens (after next weekend, hopefully), as I feel rather motivated by now.

I don’t remember what goals I had at the beginning of the month, but I really felt that writing every day helped me to be more conscious of the writing process. Thank you for all of your supportive comments throughout the month.

I’m taking June off so I can focus on getting used to my shiny new knee. Hooe to see everyone on the flip-flop!
