Yes, that's a good point! I do think the siege of the round-house is a very good exciting action/adventure scene (as is Davie in the tower—one of my favourite bits of the 'alas, Alan hasn't turned up yet' part of the book).

They're ALL wrong about the lack of love scenes.

Totally agree! —although see my reply to

sanguinity above on this being partly a language issue.
