And my Flight of the Heron Madness treat was by sanguinity, whose authorship I did not suspect (though it makes sense, thinking about it)! Thank you for such a beautiful birdy gift :)

I am also pleased to see that the other two guesses I made in my recs post were both correct.

As to what I wrote...

I was delighted to match to thrillingdetectivetales, who was also requesting NTS Kidnapped and who had a lot of AU-related ideas, particularly some kind of magical AU... I had some fun thinking over what sort of fantasy AU might suit both my strengths as a writer and the canon and characters; in the end I went back to my favourite kind of magic, did a little more research on Highland folklore and wrote this:

Not that I noticed! Actually it was the title and summary, which I thought sounded slightly jokey in a way that reminded me of some of your other fic. But perhaps the heron-posting should also have been a clue :)

I find it interesting that people are spotting my work for my sense of humor now! That's never been a thing that people identified me for in previous fandoms. I wonder whether that's a function of the fandom itself somehow, or my writing evolving over time, or the contrasts with my fellow writers here? (I don't expect you to know! It's just a new thing that I've been puzzling over.)

Huh, that is interesting! Yes, the humour was also part of how I identified your other FotH fic (and one of the reasons I ruled you out for my Kidnapped gift—which is also very funny, but in a way that felt to me like Verecunda's other fics and not like yours).
