Happy new year!
Jan. 1st, 2021 07:07 amHappy 2021! All of D. K. Broster's solo-authored works* are now officially in the public domain in countries where the term of copyright is the author's life + 70 years or less—this includes most of Europe and various countries in other parts of the world (including, as far as I can see, all the countries of people currently in Flight of the Heron fandom :D).
By a neat coincidence, Flight of the Heron, along with everything Broster published before it, is also now in the public domain in the US.
Since I think this is a good opportunity to encourage more people to read these excellent books...
Works by D. K. Broster on Gutenberg.org (expect to see a couple more here before too long...!)

Happy reading :D
*I'm not sure about her co-authored works, as I haven't been able to find biographical information about either G. W. Taylor (co-wrote Chantemerle and The Vision Splendid) or G. Forester (co-wrote World Under Snow)—if they lived longer than 1950, those books would presumably still be in copyright.
