Political opinions

I have decided to become a hard-line monarchist. At least under divine-right absolutism it's natural and inevitable that the king will make life horrible for the peasants, there's nothing anyone can do about it and you don't have to live with the knowledge that most of the people around you are actively helping him do so.

(I don't often post about politics, so, just this bit of venting and then back to the opinions on books and Christmas carols, I think.)

Sounds entirely sensible. I'll write a letter to the Queen to suggest it XD

At work today my colleagues were all commiserating with each other. One of my colleagues even brought in chocolate cake to cheer everyone up.

But then my newest colleague turned up and told me that he's really happy with the election result because now it means that Brexit can go ahead and all that EU money can go to the NHS instead D: D: D:
I just looked at him thinking "Are you still living in 2016?"

Apparently there are people in this country who still believe the side of that bloody bus! My God!

My colleagues had a brief bit of commiseration followed by a ban on the topic for the rest of the day, which was a relief.

Oh dear, that is seriously bad... well, I hope he doesn't have to get that illusion dispelled the hard way, I suppose.
