In fact I had already remembered, but as Tumblr has just reminded me, it's ten years to the day since I first made my blog over there, which is the closest thing I have to a specific date of starting to participate in fandom. Well, it's been a long and varied time! I think myself of ten years ago would be pretty surprised, and I hope largely pleased, if she could see where I am, what I've achieved and what I'm doing in fandom now.

Ah, so it was our shared preference for Laurie/Andrew that brought us together! : D Although I am ashamed of what a short comment I wrote on that gift fic ten years ago! I do better these days, I hope.

Indeed so :D I think commenting—and really, proactively talking to people in general—is something I used to be dreadful at and have (hopefully) got much better at over those ten years.
